Camino Nuevo Charter Academy’s motto is “College Ready, College Bound”, a positive and empowering message that starts in preschool and continues through high school. By the time they graduate, our students have met all admission requirements for the University of California and California State University systems.

We understand that preparing for college goes beyond academic preparation, and so we offer a number of ways to assist our students and their families with this important process:

  • College series workshops for parents (see more about one of our workshops)
  • A College Alumni Ambassador who tracks graduates, identifies potential risk factors to college success, and supports CNCA graduates as they earn bachelor’s degrees
  • Grants and CNCA scholarships, including four $4000 “Principal’s Scholarships,” nineteen $1500 Pueblo Nuevo college scholarships, and $100 “Legacy” scholarships
  • Development of advocacy skills, enabling students to seek out and access financial and informational resources

Our first graduating class reaped the benefit of our combined efforts; 100% of the Class of 2008 is college bound, with 62% of graduates admitted to a four-year university and 38% of graduates enrolled at a community college.
