Parent Involvement PDF Print E-mail

At Camino Nuevo, parents are our most important partners. We know that your involvement makes all the difference in your child's education. Since our inception, we have consistently found ways for parents to play an active role in everything from homework to school governance.

Parents are key members of each school's Site-Based Council (SBC), which is a group of parents, teachers, and school staff who meet regularly to discuss school issues and provide suggestions to the school principal.

As part of our commitment to you, we also provide a parent coordinator at each of our campuses to keep parents informed and engaged. We distribute a weekly parent news packet to keep you aware of the latest school activities, events, and updates.

One of the unique aspects of Camino Nuevo is our commitment to assisting you in matters beyond the classroom that impact you and your family. In partnership with other community groups, we offer access to services ranging from health to career and job placement to legal consultation.
Get involved with the CNCA community through:

  • Workshops and seminars on such topics as literacy, math, preparing for college, and nutrition
  • The Latino Family Literacy Project
  • Promotores de Salud
  • Community events including Family Math Night and Books and Pajamas Night
  • Volunteer opportunities

Contact your school’s parent coordinator to find out about upcoming workshops, seminars, and other special services.
