Director of Mathematics

As the Director of Mathematics, Amanda is responsible for the mathematics vision of CNCA and works to ensure that all CNCA students receive a high quality math education. She supports both teachers and school leaders in developing excellent mathematical communities for their students. Prior to joining the CNCA team Amanda worked for Professor Jo Boaler at, a center at Stanford University. She was also a teacher and an instructional coach of mathematics at a public middle school in Oakland Unified School District where she supported teachers’ transition to the Common Core State Standards. Other professional experiences include speaking at conferences held by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, teaching in a self-contained elementary school classroom, and working with a nonprofit organization to strengthen the practice of educators in India.

Amanda completed her Masters of Education in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies at Stanford University and her Bachelor of Arts at Arizona State University.
