Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is set to receive $7.125 million in grant funds from the California Department of Education’s Community Schools Partnership Program.
With this grant, CNCA will be able to fund additional integrated support services, family and community engagement, collaborative leadership and practices for educators and administrators, and extended learning time and opportunities at all six campuses.
The California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) supports schools’ efforts to partner with community agencies and local government to align community resources to improve student outcomes. These partnerships provide an integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement.
“Camino Nuevo has long believed in the power of the community schools model, and was founded on the belief that our schools work best when we operate in true partnership with our families. Our campuses serve as hubs of transformation for historically marginalized communities. This grant will only help accelerate and formalize that work as we bring our community schools efforts to scale across our network,” says CNCA Chief Executive Officer, Adriana Abich.
