Special Education
At Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, we believe that all students benefit academically and socially from an inclusive educational experience. To ensure they are equipped to engage with grade level standards, our students receive targeted interventions and learn to use their accommodations.
Camino Nuevo Charter Schools employ a full inclusion model. The full Inclusion model at CNCA ensures that to the maximum extent that is appropriate, students with disabilities are educated in the general education classrooms alongside their peers with the support and collaboration from RSP teachers and related service providers. Students with IEPs have a wide range of various accommodations, modifications, and services, provided by RSP teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers. Related services are often provided in a pull-out session outside of the general education classroom either individually or in a group setting by related service providers.
CNCA does not have a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. A Special Day Class is a self-contained class for students with IEPs who have more intensive needs that can not be met in the general education setting.
