Welcome to the Dalzell Lance Campus

Dear Dalzell Lance Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I hope your summer was restful, joyful, and filled with moments of connection and renewal. As your Principal, I am excited to welcome you back to campus. The hallways have been far too quiet without the vibrant energy of our students—it’s truly a joy to see our community come back together.

This school year marks a special milestone: Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is celebrating its 25th anniversary! For a quarter of a century, CNCA has been dedicated to providing a high-quality, college-preparatory education grounded in equity, community, and student success. We are proud to carry forward this legacy at the Dalzell Lance Campus.

Last year, Camino Nuevo High School was recognized as a 2024 California Distinguished School—a proud achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment of our students, families, teachers, and staff. As we look to the year ahead, we remain focused on key goals:

  • Ensuring every student reads at or above grade level
  • Supporting students in achieving excellence in mathematics
  • Building a school culture where every student feels a deep sense of belonging and care

At Camino Nuevo High School, we believe that relationships are at the heart of learning. When students, educators, and families are connected—when we treat one another with respect, care, and trust— together, we can accomplish anything. That’s what it means to be part of the Dalzell Lance family.

Our dedicated teachers and staff have been hard at work this summer, planning engaging instruction and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where all students can thrive. We’re entering this school year ready for growth, achievement, and celebration.

And as always, parents are our most important partners in this work. Your voice, support, and involvement are vital to your child’s success and to the health of our entire school community. Whether you’re helping with homework, attending school events, or sharing feedback—we see you, we hear you, we value you and we are grateful for your partnership.

A friendly reminder: Families are always welcome at Dalzell Lance High School. If your child ever tries to convince you not to come to campus—take that as your cue to show up! We encourage you to stay connected and involved through:

  • Back to School Night
  • School Site Council
  • English Learner Advisory Committee
  • Parent Book Club
  • Weekly family workshops
  • Cafecitos
  • College Center Workshops
  • Various other celebratory events on campus

Please make sure you’re signed up for ParentSquare, our platform for school updates and direct communication with your child’s teachers. If you need help getting set up, please contact Citlali Castillo, our Student and Family Services Coordinator, at [email protected].

As always, my door is open. Whether you have questions, feedback, or just want to say hello, I invite you to reach out. You can contact me directly at [email protected] or on ParentSquare.
Thank you for being a vital part of the Camino Nuevo family. Let’s make this 25th anniversary year our best year yet!

Sincerely,
 Larry Boone
