How Lottery Admissions Works
All families wishing to enroll their child at a Camino Nuevo school must submit an online application through SchoolMint. There are no academic requirements or costs to apply.
If applications exceed the number of available seats in any given grade, Camino Nuevo schools will host a public, random lottery on February 9, 2024 to determine which students are admitted.
Application Window
To enroll a student for the 2024-2025 school year, families must apply between October 10, 2023 to January 26, 2024. All families will be notified of the lottery results by the following Monday via email and text notification. Please make sure to call the school office if this information changes.
Offered: If your student receives an offer, you have until Feb. 16 to accept and start the registration process-- online forms and documents to the school. If we don't hear from you, the offer will be rescinded.
Waitlist: If your student is waitlisted, we will inform you as spots become available. Please stay optimistic, as there is often movement! Notifications are sent via email and phone. Please make sure to let us know if your contact information changes.
Late Applications
If you submit an application after January 26, 2024 and there are no spaces available, your child’s name will be added to a waitlist. We will admit students from the waitlist after the lottery, as spots become available and in the order in which we receive applications.
Admission Priority
Students living within the attendance boundaries of the Sandra Cisneros or Jose Castellanos campuses will be given priority for admission if available spaces exist. An application is still required for enrollment.
